Literature is the art of language,but language is not the whole literature.From Qu Yuan watching the mural and asking the God to the flourishing of later literati paintings and poems for the paintings,pictures and literature had always been with close relationship.The Chu Ci Paintings were picturized text of Chu Ci Poetry,which implied the acceptance and interpretation of the painters.Comparing the Chu Ci Poetry with the Chu Ci Paintings can build a bridge between them,which can lead us to explore the unnoticed scenery hide in them.The prosperity of the Chu Ci Paintings in Ming and Qing Dynasties had its unique historical background.The abundant details of the Chu Ci Paintings not only implied the painters' interpretation to the the Chu Ci Poetry,but also reflected the mental desire of different times.The Introduction defines the definition of Chu Ci Paintings and gives a detailed summary to the academic research status with comments on the academic value of Chu Ci Paintings in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Chapter one,study on Qu Yuan's painting images.Through the comparison and analysis of Qu Yuan painting images,summed up the images of Qu Yuan that showing a solemn loyalty,being upright,noble and unsullied,and being withered.And through the three artistic images of Qu Yuan were the dual spirits,which refered to loyalty,patriotism and unyielding struggle.Mostly,The spirits contained in the paintings tended to one end in different times.The image changes not only had a close relationship with the artists' personal interest,the historical environment at that time also produced important influence.Chapter two,Study on Nine Songs Poetry Pictures.Traits of the text of the Nine Songs Poetry and the later attitudes to qu yuan's works promoted the Nine Songs Poetry becoming a painter's classic motif.In a certain extent,Nine Songs Poetry Pictures.reflected that the artists didn't completely limited by the notes and annotations,by which revealed valuable personal thinking.The imitation that the painters imitating the text of Nine Songs Poetry in the form of painting performed in the construction of painting images and the resonance of SAO feeling.Chapter three,Study on Xiao Yuncong's TianWen Illustration.Xiao Yuncong's TianWen Illustration,created in the turbulent late Ming Dynasty,were well designed and finished.Under the influence of the Image Time's preference and the ideological trend of against the wind of eight-legged essay and moral decay,TianWen Illustration presented an aritisic characteristic that preferring to singular interest as well as thinking inclination of meaning to expostulate.Chapter four,Study on Men Yingzhao's Making-up Drawing to Li Sao Illustration Made by the Imperial Order.It was currently the most complete illustration of Chu Ci Poetry.Using a variety of display mode to portraying the content of the Chu Ci Poetry,it recorded the painters' interpretation of the poem.But the painters restored the poetry text so faithfully that caused the resolution of the connotation of the poems.Besides,its cartographic specifications was following Xiao Yuncong's Li Sao Illustration in some extent.Anyway,due to the different creation background,the two books were mostly different in purposes,features and emotions.
