Xinjiang Shihezi City Catholic Religious Life And Belief Research Status

Considering the studies of religions in Xinjiang, there have been in-depth research conducted f or Islam, Bhuddism and Christianity, but the study of Catholicism has just begun. On theother ha nd, the beliefs of soldiers, under the restraint on the level-one political member and soldiers, had b een so shrouded by the spirit of the Red Army over a long period of time that external bodies even determined that individual soldiers do not come under any religion. As a result, the studies of sold iers' religious beliefs are few and far in between.The most typical development on the spread of Catholicism within the army can be observed i n Shihezi City. Based on long-term fieldwork, adopting participant observation, in-depth interview s, questionnaire surveys, archival documents, a more extensive and deeper analysis on the religiou s activities and faith of the Catholics in Shihezi City was conducted. Starting from the church, the history of its origination was introduced, subsequently, the growth of church staff and believers w as narrated. It does not only provide the historical backdrop but also revealed the reality of the enti re scene concerning the Church of Shihezi City and its believers. It allows the writing to take bette r form and be more complete. The second part gives more focus on the religious activities among t he Catholics in Shihezi City. Through a comprehensive analysis set forth within the church and outside, all-round, multi-angle to show the religious life of Catholics Shicheng then found here verticality religious coexistence and collective management technology and features.
