This assay aims at directly watching the rhetorical phenomenon on the conscious level by means of shelving all doubtful experiences and judgments and returning whatever textual or lingual rhetorical presentation to find “rhetorical subject”, the decisive dominant object, to see “rhetorical subject's construction of rhetoric”, the essential rhetorical phenomenon, when we utilize the phenomenological methods of description, let the phenomenon itself talk and explain the inner working principle of rhetoric, we can reveal the meaning of rhetoric and achieve the research aim of facing to rhetoric itself. These theories “shelving”, “reduction”, “intentionality” and “living-world” have the meanings of methodology and were applied to researching fields of psychology, aesthetics, education, literature and art, sociology, etc. On the aspect of investigating the resource, rhetoric imports methods of phenomenology to shelve all the theories and judgments of natural thinking model, to return the rhetorical phenomenon as the product of conscious construction, to rethink the intentional meaning of this construction, to experience the living-world meaning of rhetoric, which will be an exploration of perceiving the nature of rhetoric and have a meaning for the depth study of rhetoric.
