The source text deprives from the webpage of Xiangjun Law-firm, which has entitled me to translate its webpage in order to meet the demands of business services and global development. As the online publicity material, the webpage belongs to the typical informative text which has performed the informative function and vocative function. It contains a trail of narrative and explainable sentences that the structure appeals to the Chinese readers. In the source text, the most obvious feature is the overusing of long-sentence that includes at least two or three compound sentences with a great amount of information, which the cohesion is achieved by syntactic meaning. The long-sentences in the ST mostly are inclined to adopt the active sentences and impersonal sentences, and some sentences contain some fixed expressions in several professional field. As a result, the syntactic form of the whole text is presented deviously. In order to direct the translation of the source text, the author cites the Functional Equivalence Theory of Eugene Nida, and at the same time also illustrates his translating model: analyzing, transference, restructuring, and testing. Acquainting with the functions of webpage and the principles of designing, the author analyzes the text characteristics from two perspectives of vocabulary and syntax. In the end, this thesis focuses on the most obvious feature—the overusing long-sentences. Considering the language distinction between Chinese and English, the most difficult is how to restructure the long-sentence into the target text during translation. Meanwhile, this thesis found that bachelors are relatively weak in this aspect. Based on the Functional Equivalence Theory, the author will discuss the long-sentence translation from three perspectives: sentence logic, sentence structure and sentence meaning by analyzing the syntactical features of the source text and the transference of the two languages in linguistic form and thought. This thesis delves into the long-sentence translation from three perspectives: sentential logic, sentence pattern and sentence meaning by analyzing the syntactical features of the source text and the transference of the two languages in linguistic form and thought. For long sentence, the reconstruction of sentential logic mainly adopts the methods of adding conjunction and intercompilation; the reconstruction of sentence pattern mainly adopts the methods of transference and emulating translation; the reconstruction of sentence meaning mainly uses the methods of deletion and supplementary. According to the methods mentioned above, many mistakes will be avoided when translate the long sentence of this source text, like logical incoherence, mixture of meaning, Chinglish and so on.
