Research On The Life Consciousness In Mo Yan’s Novel

As a unique writer in contemporary China’s literary, Mo Yan is also one of the influential writers in the world. His work has always focused on the state of life,supporting the natural rationality of individual’s desire and revealing the value and significance of life. This thesis attempts to make an explanation on Mo Yan’s novel from the perspective of the consciousness of and discuss the value and unique performance of life. The thesis is divided into four chapters:The first chapter analyzes the reasons for the formation of life consciousness in Mo Yan’s novel. Mo Yan was born in the countryside. His special experience about hunger and loneliness in childhood gave him a special feeling of life while he has a great concern about the future of the nation when facing the “degradation of nation”.These two factors increase the formation of life consciousness in Mo Yan’s novel.The second chapter is the discussion of the connotation of life consciousness in Mo Yan’s novel. This life consciousness consists of life ontology and the value of life.This thesis illustrates the specific content of life ontology on the perspective of Freud’s theory of personality structure. The value of life Mo Yan advocates is mainly manifested on "correspondence between man and nature" and "morbid personality".The third chapter discusses the performance of life consciousness in Mo Yan’s novel. The performance will be discussed from two themes of love and death.The fourth chapter illustrates the meaning of life consciousness of Mo Yan’s novel.This life consciousness, in a way of Chinese, has touched the fate of human beings. It inherits and in the meantime exceeds the tradition, obtaining the approval of the world.In summary, this thesis gives support on the positive meaning of Mo Yan’s friction in the meantime points out its backwards.
