It is well known that translation plays a very important role in communication in various fields.Obviously, translators will encounter many difficulties because of the total difference in grammatical structures of Japanese and Chinese. When translating Japanese literature, the writer finds that long Japanese sentences appear in high frequency and their structures are very complex. To solve the problem, the writer extracts part of typical examples of long sentences from Out of the Window to analyze the methods of translation from Japanese to Chinese. The paper defines long Japanese sentence as "sentence with more than 75 computer statistical characters(including punctuation)" and classifies long sentences in Out of the Window into six groups. There are mainly two steps for the translation of long Japanese sentences into Chinese.First of all,the translator should analyze its structure according to the six groups above and sort out its meaning and relation;then use various kinds of methods to do with every structure that is split,by means of disorganizing its original expression order and sorting out the sentence with Chinese expression habits.
