The Semantic Analysis And Rhetorical Interpretation On Morpheme "Phoenix" And The Terms Combined With It

"Phoenix" as a cultural symbol of the Chinese nation, its connotation is very rich. In this paper, taking the 491 words and phrases concerning "Phoenix" compiled in The Dictionary of Chinese as the object of analysis, we are devoted to the formation the semantic features and the Generation of semantic field at both semantic and Rhetorical levels.we can know that "phoenix" belong to categories of meanings based on the analysis on the Morpheme "phoenix" and the terms combined with it, and the various meanings of "phoenix" are basically extended on the basis of "phoenix 1", and the semantic morpheme "Phoenix" parameter configuration words mainly generated by both metaphor and metonymy rhetori. According to the different semantic direction, morpheme "Phoenix" and the terms combined with it can be divided into five generic semantic fields, and points out the reasons for its generation in the respect of the nature of phoenix, Confucianism and Taoism culture and national characteristics.
