The Study On The Taorism Immortal Biographies Of Qing Dynasty

This paper takes the six immortal biographies as my research objects,which are included in the Zang Wai Taoism and The Chinese Continued Taoism.Wemake an investigation of the author,version of these immortal biographies,which were written out in the Qing Dynasty.And we also attempt to analyze the narrative types and ideological characteristics,so we can know the great significance and value of these books in Qing Dynasty.We devide the full paper into six parts:The introduction part mainly introduces the research purpose,the significance and the research object of the hesis.We also introduces the relevant research works and papers at home and abroad.The first chapter analyzes the development of Taoism in the Qing Dynasty,which is based on the Taoist background of Qing Dynasty and the immortal biographies.It points out that the Taoism has gradually fallen out of favor in the upper ruling class and has to turn to develop among the people.lt is also found that the writing of the immortals was influenced by the folklore,and the creation subject and the style of the books had did some changes.The second chapter makes an overall investigation of the author,version,content and other information of the Qing Dynasty immortal biographies,which collected in Zang Wai Taoism and The Chinese Continued Taoism Through the further reading of the text,the literature sources of the various immortals in the Qing Dynasty were sorted out by the forms.The third chapter discusses the narrative types of the immortal biographies,such as historical-style biography type,the novel-style biography type,the engraving-style biography type and the researching-style biography type.The fourth chapter discusses the thoughts of Taoism ideologies,such as the equality of creatures,the importance to birth,the promotion of evil and the punishment of goodness.Then we discusses the immortal characteristics,their clear duty,the social relief and so on.At last,we analyze the Qing Dynasty immortal biographies'influences,which indicating the important value of the Qing Dynasty immortal biographies.The last part discusses the evaluation and influence of the immortal biographies.Tracing the development of the whole immortal biographies history,we list the representative of the ancient books of immortal.
