With the further development of the world trade and the global economic integration,commodity circulation in the world trade market becomes more and more frequent.As a typical feature of the modern society,commercials have been penetrating it at every level and have become one of the indispensable important components in our daily life.Commercials play a more and more important role in merchandise sales and promote the trade development in the global market,and then the role of commercial translation is prominent gradually.Nevertheless,the reality is that the commercial translation hasn't obtained wide acceptance and full attention as an art learning.As the language media between commercials,the translators have the responsibility to acquire the proper,systematic and effective translation strategies to tackle problems and improve the translation quality.Based on analyzing the features of commercial language,the paper applies relevance theory to practice,and aims to find out the strategies of commercial translation which can reach the optimum efficiency from some special aspects while building up the optimal relevance between the source commercial language and the target language.And thus these feasible translation methods and strategies can be developed and perfected in some degree under the guidance of relevance theoryThe paper is made up of six parts: the first part is the introduction,and this part introduces the research background,paper structure and study methods.The second part is the general knowledge of commercials reviewing the commercial definition,purpose,function and the special language features.The third part is cognition of relevance theory,introducing the basic conception and major principles.The forth part is interpretation of commercials and the translation from the perspective of relevance theory.This part analyzes and illustrates the guidance and validity of relevance theory for commercial translation,which lays the basic theoretical foundation for further study in the paper.The fifth part is the major part,which manages to explore the commercial translation strategies reaching the optimal relevance under the minimum effort of target language audience from the rhetorical and cultural perspective.And this part is based on relevance theory and prosperous commercial translation cases.The sixth part is the conclusion,which states the findings and limitations of the paper.
