Luoyang Northern Wei Period The Epitaph Study Of Calligraphy Art

During the past century,the ancient Northern Wei Dynasty calligraphy work that has been excavated was majorly from Luoyang period.The styles of calligraphy were Zhuan,Li,Kai.Zhuan script is limited to the space of the title on the tablet cover,while its decoration implication is rich.Kai script on the other hand has great length and,hence in different shapes that always appeared in epitaph calligraphy,epigraphy calligraphy,statues inscription calligraphy and paper based ink calligraphy.This article,using Piyang Epitaph as an instance,discourse the artistic feature of epitaph calligraphy in the specific period of time when Northern Wei Dynasty moved its capital city to Luoyang.Chinese character was abundantly presented by epitaph in Wei dynasty on account to the influence of Hanization.Thus,even if there was not any particular policy towards calligraphy during the first year of Xiping period in Wei Dynasty,epigraphy and epitaph calligraphy in ancient Luoyang city was objectively influenced.The thesis of this article is divided into three parts in order of creating explanation,main body of text,concluding remarks tripartite,text among them splits into three chapters.Creating explanation part ascertained the direction of graduation work and demonstrated the format,style and plan in detail.In the first two chapters of text,author strives to discuses the far-reaching artistic impact at the time because of cultural and political changing during the Luoyang period in Wei Dynasty.First chapter is the theoretical basis of article,which focused on introduce the epitaph and the analysis of its content.Second chapter is the analysis of that individual case from its technique of writing,style and pattern.The third chapter talks about how the epitaph influenced this graduation paper.Generally speaking,the changing of calligraphy in Luoyang,Northern Wei Dynasty is that Kai style started to appear the feature of tall and straight,which is similar to Southern Wei's Kai script epitaph.Northern Wei Dynasty aspiration southern calligraphy appeared in later stage of Pingcheng period.After forty years moved to the Luoyang,studying southern calligraphy became popular along with the deep Hanization.Since then,the fashion of calligraphy became abandoning the ancient style and tending towards the new way.
