Study About The Fire Worship For Female Camel Of Hangjin In Ordos

This paper, first of all, introduced the custom and history of the life of people who feeding camel in HangJin, traced the origin and types of the fire worship for female camel. Second, this paper analysis the constituent elements and the Ritual Process of the fire worship for female camel from the view of analysis of ceremony in ethnology. Last of all, this paper elucidated the characteristics and functions of society and culture of the fire worship for female camel.The author's main conclusions are:The generating and subsisting of the fire worship for female camel have close relationship with the local natural environment and lifestyle and the background of local history and culture. This kind of cultural phenomenon not only is a product of cultural adaptation but also have some cultural and social function. The characteristics of the fire worship for female camel are reflected in the collection by fire worship and the female camel worship carried out simultaneously, the worship activity combined with the production life scenes and the addition of entertainment activities in fete ceremony. The social and culture function of the fire worship for female camel are:inheriting traditional culture; enhancing ethnic cultural identity; enhancing cultural sense of belonging and cohesion; promoting ecological protection, and so on.
