| With the increasing development of society, the meaning of painting is also changing. Nowadays, the painting pays more attention to recording ego inner emotion and thoughts of painter rather than showing social reality. The article analyzes Rothko's works as well as explores his original creating intention and reasons to try to find out the links between painter and painter's personal emotion as well as how to deal with the viewing experience from the view of artist by analyzing the age background and artistic career of Rothko, American Minimalist from the beginning to the mature stage.
