Preliminary Research On The Bronze Hacking Weapons Excavated From The Area Of Lake Dian

With respect to the Central region of ancient China, Yunnan province, which is located in the remote area, has gradually entered the Bronze Age. Especially in the Warring States to Qin and Han Dynasty, there has formed a relatively independent and more developed bronze culture around the famous Lake Dian. So far, we can hardly find complete details of the Lake Dian in recorded history. However, more and more historical remains and objects have been discovered by archaeologists since the founding of New China. As time goes on, we gradually get to know the mysterious and colorful cultural landscape around Lake Dian. Currently, Hundreds of tombs in the region of Lake Dian has been formly excavated, including Shizhaishan cemetery, LijiaShan cemetery, Yangfutou cemetery, Tianzi temple, Shibei village, Taijishan,and so on. An abundant of discoveries have constantly aroused academic focus of attention. There has already a large number of research results on its regional geographical features, flora types, indigenous cultural landscape, also as daily appliances, ritual customs, weapons and other material culture. This paper is based on the hacking weapons excavated from Bronze Age tombs around Lake Dian. Such kind of weapons include ax, yue, qi and zhuo, which Appear more frequently in this area. According to historical documents and archaeological discoveries in the existing part of the study, to make the preliminary study on the characteristics of shape, Evolution,and functions about weapons above-mentioned. At the same time, we consider much more about its practice value and symbolic meaning stands in ancient society.Secondly, through the parallel comparison with several areas(we take the adjacent region of Lake Dian, the Central region, the Northern Region as well the Guangdong and Guangxi region for example), with the main object of this study were compared and analyzed to explore differences in local exchanges and cultural factors.At the last part of this paper, we are trying to discuss the class of the target tombs with its main funerary objects.and on the other hand, we long for an explanation and an illustration of the war situation at this area long times ago.
