Study On Abstract Painting By Gerhard Richter

The 20 th centuryis the society amidst the winds of change era,at the same time,it is also an era of various ideological trends.After the Second World War,German art shoulders the mission of Cultural Renaissance,and there are many art schools and excellent artists.Gerhard·Richter,who was a German artist known for "reason" and "calm" at that time.Richter's artistic creation process has very distinct characteristics.His representational art and abstract art developed in parallel,and achieved remarkable achievement.Richter was born in East Germany,have received the education of socialist traditional painting,it was one of the few realistic artists in the Contemporary German artists.Richter experienced a change from East Germany to West Germany,access to the last century in 60 s,Fluxus,Pop Art and other new art schools.These new forms of art had a great influence on his early artistic creation.He travels in various art schools,but can't find any traces of imitation in his works.Richter has always insisted on the traditional art formpainting,adhering to the artistic concept of "going to the style" in the artistic conception.He tries to find the breakthrough of traditional art in his own abstract painting,his abstract art opened up a new direction for the development of Western abstract art.This thesis takes Gerhard's abstract painting art as the main research object of the thesis,through the analysis of the painter's artistic history,painting schema,language form and creative methods,combined with the background of the times,to explore the spirit of Richter's abstract painting.
