The Influence Of The Degree Of Representative Of Materials And Time Interval In Negative Priming Effect In Categorization Tasks

This study used the the sequential priming display of the variant of negative priming effect paradigm,to study the influence of the representative degree of category material and time interval the negative priming effect in the classification tasks.Experiment contents are as following:Experiment 1: The first is to verify the step-by-step priming display mode,and see if the negative priming effect is still in the modified mode.The results showed that the negative priming effect was achieved when the reaction of ignoring repeated conditions was significantly greater than that of the control condition.Pre-Experiment:the experimental materials to be used for evaluation and classification,namely the fruit words words and furniture material selection and the degree of representative.The two kinds of vocabulary were divided into three classes,that is high,medium and low degrees of representative,which lays the foundation for subsequent experiments.Experiment 2: The categorized words are matched and grouped separately in second experiment by the three classes of degree of representative in priming display.Used E-prime 1.0 programmed,2×3 within-subjects designed.According to the results,the negative priming effect appeared significantly in the test of distraction stimulus with high degree of representative,and the effect was not significant in that of medium degree of representative,however,the reversal of negative priming effect,which is named priming effect,appeared in that of low degree of representative.Experiment 2: Prolong the time interval to 300 ms.In this experiment,the results was contrary to the secondly when the time interval was 300 ms.Firstly,through the independent sample t test with no time interval and time interval,it was found that the difference was significant.However,that negative priming effect appeared significantly in the test of distraction stimulus with low degree of representative,the reversal of negative priming effect,which is named priming effect,appeared in that of high degree of representative.
