With the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiatives, great progress has been made in the domestic aviation industry. As an important aspect that promotes the economic development, financing and leasing of the aviation industry has attracted much attention. There is great potential in China's aviation leasing market, and therefore,a bunch of leasing companies are established.Since the domestic aviation leasing industry is still in its early stages,it is necessary to draw on the experience of the foreign aviation leasing industry, and to continually learn from and supplement industry-related knowledge, thereby getting a basic grasp of the latest happening of the industry. As arecent development of the Systemic Functional Linguistics,Appraisal Theory focuses onthe evaluative meaning by analyzing the spoken and written texts, which may help a translator to deepen his/her understanding of the source language, thereby improving the quality of the translation.Taking the book International Aircraft Financing as an example, the author tries to combine Appraisal Theory with her translation project.Under the guidance of Engagement, one of the subsystems of the Appraisal Theory, the author will first analyze the features of the source text from two aspects, which are text types and stylistic features. And then she will collect data of the Engagement resources existed in the source text and conclude their distribution.Lastly, the author will analyze how to deal with the Engagement resources in the course of translation. The report aims to demonstrate that Appraisal Theory can assist a translatorwith the translation and it is hoped the report may be served as reference for later researchers.
