Prosocial behavior is one of the most popular topic among adolescents in psychology.Recent studies found that attachment to parents was positively relevant to prosocial behavior, and some studies supplied that self-control mediated parent attachment and other variables like depression. However,in adolescent,as we know, peer attachment is more important than parent attachment, even replace it.Three studies below, which hypothesize that peer attachment is positively related to prosocial behavior, mediating by self-control,were multimethod studies. All the data analysis included One-Sample T Test and Path analysis.460 adolescents in Guangzhou were participated in Study One with two methods of self-control assessment, questionnaire and experiment. The results showed that peer attachment which has sexual differences,is positively relevant to prosocial behavior, mediating by self-control(questionnaire-assessed)among early adolescents. To examine whether self-report,father-report or mother-report of prosocial behavior may have impact to the hypothesis,760 adolescent-parent were helped the Study Two.Results was familiar with Study One,but the model could be examined only by self-report prosocial behavior.Furthermore,Study Three inspected cultural difference of the hypothesis among 1598 Chinese and Italian adolescents in early adolescent, supplying that the model could be supported in both China and Italy samples.Above all,the studies provided evidences of peer attachment and self-control as factors to the prosocial behavior development among early adolescents, expanding the cross-cultural studies between China and Italy.
