Under the impetus of the recent higher education reform in China,colleges and universities continue to innovate and develop thinking,change the mode of development,in order to promote development of higher education efficiently and rapidly.The development of higher education has its duality.On one hand,it has met the needs of individual employment;on the other hand,it caters to objective requirement of positions and lays a strong foundation for young people to start work and adapt to the needs of new positions.From a greater level,higher education is also the inheritance of knowledge and technology.It is an important way for knowledge creation and skill innovation.Classroom teaching plays an important role in knowledge inheritance.Colleges and universities in our country started late,but developed rapidly,and they could meet the needs of development of social economy basically.With the refinement of social division of labor,the demand of social economic development for talents is becoming more and more diversified,but the reform of talent cultivation in higher education is lagging behind.Especially,classroom teaching is controversial in recent years,and the attraction and influence of classroom teaching on students is decreasing,which seriously affected the quality of talent training in colleges and universities and caused widespread concern in the academic circles and other social circles.Although the reform of Public English Teaching is carrying on prosperously,students' English proficiency and ability is still difficult to meet the needs of employment and further education.This paper starts with the current situation and influencing factors of Public English Teaching in colleges and universities,using the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview and so on,analyzes the present situation of College English Teaching.It holds that the main problems are as follows:College English textbooks are lacking in pertinence and diversity;students' English foundation is on different levels and they have poor interest in English learning;there are too many teaching tasks for English teachers.Based on this,and"meaningful learning" and "optimization teaching theory" are included,this paper analyzes the factors affecting the effectiveness of College English Classroom Teaching.These factors include:teachers comprehensive ability,students ability and interaction between teachers and students.Then it proposes the strategies for improving College English Classroom Teaching,which includes improving teachers' comprehensive ability,teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and increasing the interaction between teachers and students.
