| The Romance of Eastern Han Dynasty,written by Xie Zhao of the Ming Dynasty,mainly narrates the meritorious deeds of Liu Xiu in the restoration of the Han Dynasty.The last three volumes record the change of the imperial throne chronically.The Romance of Eastern Han Dynasty was adapted into Hurenwuliger(Mongolian story-telling)version by a Hurqi(Mongolian folk artists)named Burenbayar and renamed the Chinese version as Stories of Liu Xiu ’s Escape which mainly relates the escaping experience of Liu Xiu from the persecution of Wang Mang.In order to revive Han Dynasty,people from upper class like marshals and prime ministers and lower class like farmers and prostitutes all made their contributions,which reflects the orthodox thought that the hearts of the people are for the Han Dynasty.The thesis makes a comparison between the Hurenwuliger version of Stories of Liu Xiu’s Escape and the Chinese version of The Romance of Eastern Han Dynasty and studies on folk artists’ inheritance and recreation of the Chinese version so as to reveal the similarities and differences of the literary aesthetics of the Mongolian and the Han nationalities.The thesis is composed of three parts which are introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction mainly introduces the origin of the two works,the current studying status and the significance of the study.The main body is composed of three chapters:the first chapter analyzes the addition of the Hurenwuliger version on the basis of the Chinese version in terms of storyline,characters,environmental description.The second chapter analyzes the abridgement of the Hurqi’s Hurenwuliger version from the perspective of storyline,characters,poems,idioms and reviews on the basis of The Romance of Eastern Han Dynasty.The third chapter demonstrates the reconstruction of the Chinese version by Burenbayar in terms of the description on wars,characters,the features of language.In the last part a conclusion is made on the whole thesis. |
