In recent years,some scholars in China,such as Zhang Jinqiao and Feng Liping,have realized this specificity of the Chinese language.They studied the psychological processing,reading and acquisition of Chinese characters from the point view of cognitive psychology.Some scholars,such as Dong Yanping and Gui Shichun,think that both English and Chinese are very different in word formation and raised the question of "whether this difference reflected in the vocabulary representation of the brain".In general,the relevant academic research on the question of whether the internal structure of Chinese vocabulary is related to the input,access and representation of vocabulary in human brain is not much.This passage is based on the model that Dong Yanping proposed in 1998.The first chapter of this paper expounds the background of the research and the significance of the topic.The second chapter introduces the theory of L2 mental lexicon and clarifies the research method of this paper.The third chapter is the experimental design and the implementation of the pre-experiment.The fourth chapter analyzes and compares the respond of English-speaking Chinese learners and the native speakers of Chinese to the Chinese two-syllable synthetic verbs.The fifth chapter puts forward some suggestions on the teaching of Chinese vocabulary based on the experimental data.This paper holds that for the Chinese learners who are in the middle and advanced stages:1)The construction of second language mental lexicon is semantic.2)Morpheme plays a guiding role in the construction of learners' Chinese vocabulary network.3)The differences in lexical structure have an effect on the construction of learners' mental lexicon.4)It is necessary to strengthen the distinction between different morphemes in Chinese vocabulary teaching.5)Teachers should strengthen the analysis of adverbial morpheme in teaching two-syllable verb.
