Recent years, more and more visual research focus on the real-world scenes. In this article,we designed two experiments to explore the problem of the real-world scene classification using the dual-task paradigm.Scene gist is a different kind of visual stimulation which can help us obtain high-level information efficiently. However,we still don't know what role did attention played in the scene classification.According to the “Attention specific processing theory”,we propose two experiments to explore the time course of attention in scene gist.In experiment 1 we compared the performance of two different visual properties task in the dual-task paradigm, the result shows there is no difference and it seems that the interference may happened in a later stage. In experiment 2 we made a further explore in a auditory tasks and scene classification dual-task condition. In the cross-modal condition the interference effect still can't be eliminated.According to the result we build a model that the attention in the scene classification stage can be divide into two parts. In the encoding stage scene gist can be acquire automatically, the interference effect may be happened in the high-level information processing stage which happened in the central attention stage.
