A Report On Translation Of The Interpretation Of Dreams(Excerpts Of Chapter ?)

The rapid development of information technology contributes to increasingly frequent exchanges among all nations in economy,culture,etc..People across the world are enjoying spiritual and cultural products,especially classical books of all nations.Although a large number of foreign classical books have already been translated and introduced to Chinese readers,retranslation of those classical books serves as a new way of comprehension and analysis.This thesis is a report on the translation of The Interpretation of Dreams(Excerpts of Chapter ?)from English to Chinese.The translator of the English version of this book is A.A.Brill,an American psychiatrist and the author of it is an Austrian psychiatrist called Sigmund Freud.Based on practical translation experience,this translation report chooses functional equivalence of Eugene A Nida as its guiding theory to conclude and analyze key and difficult problems that occurred during translation such as terms,long and complex sentences and differences of cultural backgrounds through breakthrough of words property,implementation of kernel sentences and applying of isomorphism.Based on the translation practice of the translator in the past few months,this report endeavors to further comprehend and apply those popular theoretical achievements in order to enhance the translator's understanding of them,and to provide as possible as more guides to practical translation work.
