We have the direct knowledge of our mental states. And we have a particular feeling at a certain time, happiness, anger, sorrow, joyfulness or many others,we know that we do have this feeling.Behaviorism,as one kind of psychological approach had repudiated all of the"subjective" terms. These words, which are so ordinary in everyday life, should be taken into a prudent consideration.Something taken for granted is to be questioned. We assume a inquiring attitude of related issues. When do we begin to have a distrust of the words that stand for our subjective feelings? And what are the essential qualities of these words? What are the implications of that the distrust of subjective terms? And so on.The article takes a philosophical and historical investigation of the questions mentioned above.First of all,I try to make the subject of our discussion clear and propose a definition of "mental(istic)vocabulary".Then,in Chapter 2,a prevailing opinion of materialization of the mentalistic vocabulary and mental states is shown. In Chapter 3,I consider the application of mentalistic terms. We have to use anthropomorphism when we give descriptions of any thing and reductive materialism ignore the differences between humans and animals.Chapter 4 focuses on the repudiation of mentalistic terms, and with the decay of behaviorism, the terms reappear. We have a firm understanding of this vocabulary or terms and we also have a constant use, especially,we focus on the explanations and usage of these words in the vocabulary in scientific research.A word have a meaning itself,I think that the"mentalistic vocabulary" is much more special because of the strong connection between human being and the words. Not like other terms or notions, these words are brought into science researches as a scientific subject in a different way.The words are subjective and related to our minds, which have the metaphysical authenticity. However, the investigation is not totally the recognition of a certain concept,we are remembering a restriction of subjectivity.
