| Lying is a common phenomenon in human society, and it is an inevitable behavior in the development of children and it is a capacity for children to adapt to society. The developmental psychologists have done a lot of research on the occurrence and development of early childhood lying, and some researchers argue that Theory of Mind can explain the occurrence of child lying, while others think that the development of executive function can explain the occurrence of child lying more, and there are also researchers who think that early childhood lying can be learned like learning langguage.A large number of studies have shown that autistic children exist Theory of Mind deficit and the executive dysfunction,so to explore the behavior of lying in children with autism and its influencing factors may be to provide some new perspective to explain the occurrence and development of lying. But also to provide some theoretical basis for the autistic children’s social behavior training. This research was divided into two parts. The first study selected 13 autism children, and investigated the lying behavior in autistic children by temptation resistance paradigm and the"Hide and Seek" task, and were compared with the children with mental retardation children, typically developed children. On the basis of the first study, the second study investigate wrong belief understanding, working memory,Inhibitory control in three groups of children through unexpected contents false belief task, unexpected location false belief task, the counting span task, tower task and day-night Stroop.Summarizing the results of study one and study two.The main conclusions of this research are as follows:(1)Autistic children performed differently in the two lying task.Autistic children can show a certain tendency to lie and lying ability in the temptation resistance paradigm, but lying in the"Hide and Seek" task is significantly worse than children with mental retardation and typically developed children.(2)There are inconsistencies in the factors that affect the lying of children in autism in the two lying tasks. In the temptation resistance paradigm, there are no significant correlations between autism children lying tendency, ability of lying and Theory of Mind, executive function. In the"Hide and Seek" task, there is a significant correlation between autism children lying behavior and Theory of Mind, verbal intelligence, nonverbal intelligence.(3)In the temptation resistance paradigm, autistic children denying theirs peeking is the task that belongs to the category of behaviorism, which may be learned like learning language, and such lies may be an advantage of autistic children, with a certain degree of biocompatibility and less need to make inhibitory control participate.Autistic children lied in the "Hide and Seek" task which belongs to the category of psychological, and learning such a lie may be based on the acquisition of Theory of Mind. |
