The Research On The Calligraphy Of Zhang Taiyan

Throughout the history of Chinese handwriting,there are a large number of famous calligraphers to promote the development of calligraphic art in every generation.In retrospect,the history of calligraphy,it is easy for us to speak out the names of those professional calligraphers.They spent all of their lives on studying calligraphy and contribute to the development of calligraphy.However,not only do professionals make efforts to improve the calligraphy,but also some scholars make enormous contributions to the calligraphy and academy.The calligraphy is not their advantage,but their passions and enthusiasm are not inferior to the professionals.Taiyan Zhang,who is one of the famous masters in modern times,is such a great scholar.In his numerous achievements,the calligraphy is always ignored by people compares with others.The author tends to start exploring his calligraphy depending on his numerous achievements.This dissertation is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,it describes the life and main paternal teaching and influence of Taiyan Zhang.In consideration of the premises,his literary family and pursuit of calligraphy which lay the foundation of his calligraphic style.The second chapter describes the Taiyan's Zhang calligraphic concept.Through the main three theses and the discussions about calligraphy,which are published in the other publications.We can know his viewpoints of the calligraphy history,the calligraphy;the rubbing;the writing,and his perspective,tracing the source.The third chapter discusses Taiyan's Zhang calligraphic style and origin,and it is clarified in two sections.The first part categorizes from Zhang's adept three main Chinese script forms—seal character,official script and running script,according to different styles of seal character and different periods of running script.Moreover,it provides case study of one or two corresponding works.In the second chapter,on the basis of calligraphy social background and the syncretic stone inscription concepts in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,the politics;economics;culture and aesthetics which create Zhang's writing style.On the other side,Zhang's pursuing of traditional culture,persevering characteristics,the succession from masters and the family traditional literature origins which contribute to his calligraphic style.In the last chapter,as a scholar,under his influence,advanced concept and excellent skills,Zhang has been promoting the development of calligraphy.What's more,Zhang has drawn people's attention to calligraphy with his persevering characteristics,high-level accomplish and exquisite writing.His style brings a profound influence to the descendants.In author's opinion,when contemporary scholars study the Chinese calligraphy history,they should not just focus on the professional calligraphers.Not only do the scholars' calligraphies possess the skills of professionals,but it is also worthy for us to consider and learn from their scholarly accomplishments.
