Blending And Variation-a Study Of The Intrinsic Meaning Of Love Narrative (1978-1984) | | Posted on:2018-04-24 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Q Liu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2335330515960666 | Subject:Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | At the beginning of the new period,love,which was expelled from the field of literature during the “Cultural Revolution”,once again walked into the public sight.The mass creation of love narratives has become a rather remarkable phenomenon in the history of contemporary Chinese literary history.In some ways,love narratives reflect a wealth of information in the specific time,which has a great research in searching social context.The paper,with love narratives as the entry point,with the period from 1978 to 1984 as the timeline,focuses on the core connotations of love narratives at the beginning of the new age.Through a close reading of the text,delves into the historical context of love narratives,wishes to demonstrate a complex literary prospect.Except introduction and conclusion,the paper is made up of four chapters.The first chapter is based on the discussion of the illuminating function of love narratives.Illuminating is the recovery of “human beings”.The focal point is to elaborate upon the enlightenment of “human beings” of love narratives from two aspects including spiritual beliefs and individual fate.The second chapter discusses the political discourse found in love narratives.At the beginning of love narrative in the new period has a strong political color,the nature of love has been covered,instead of the country’s mainstream.The love narrative of the political connotation focus on two parts of the reflection and hero.The third chapter discusses the moral connotation of love narratives.The new period of literature is a moral recovery period.Centering on the topic of “the mistress”,it starts with analyzing the phenomenon and the correspondent causes of the phenomenon,and concludes with two starkly contrasting moral notions,and thereby exhibiting a situation of the traditional colliding with the modern.The fourth chapter narrates the female consciousness found in love narratives.Female consciousness was experiencing a growing process at the beginning of the new age.Women started to pursue “spiritual companions” and during the process of trying to look for self-awakening,they were also likely to be influenced by male-centered discourse.Just like the woman called “Mulan”.The characteristics peculiar to women were thus veiled and a state of “aphasia” emerged. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | new period, novel, love narratives, intrinsic implications | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
