In the past few decades, many scholars at home and abroad have done lots of researches in the field of Input Enhancement. But most of them mainly focused on the input enhancement strategies and attention and acquisition of target language form.Up to now,few are conducted from the perspective of input enhancement sequence and its effects on productive vocabulary acquisition. Therefore,an empirical study is carried out with the “Input Enhancement Theory” and “Type of Processing Resources Allocation” as theoretical foundation, the words selected according to Vocabulary Knowledge Scale as target words. It aims to explore the effects of different input enhancement sequences of word form and meaning on learners' productive vocabulary acquisition in immediate and delayed test. There are ninety freshmen, who are non-English majors in their second semester involving in this experiment as subjects. They are assigned into three groups according to the class they belong to: group one as form-first input enhancement sequence group, group two as the meaning-first input enhancement sequence group, group three as the simultaneous input enhancement of word form and meaning.Three groups of subjects receive three sequences of input enhancement of word form and meaning. After that, three groups of participants received an immediate test on productive vocabulary acquisition, and a delayed test on productive vocabulary acquisition a week later. There are three parts in acquisition test including word form spelling, synonyms association and translation of target-word-related collocations. The data collected are analyzed through SPSS16.0 and conclusions can be drawn as below:(1)In immediate test, sequential input enhancement of word form and meaning does have effects on learners' productive vocabulary acquisition both in whole and in three parts concerning word form spelling, synonym association and translation of target-word-related collocations. Both form-first and meaning-first input enhancement have more positive influences on productive vocabulary acquisition compared with simultaneous input enhancement. What's more,form-first input enhancement promotes productive vocabulary acquisition in the aspect of word form spelling, while meaning-first facilitates the acquisition in the synonyms association aspect.(2)In delayed test, sequential input enhancement of word form and meaning has no effect on learners' productive vocabulary acquisition both in whole and in part.(3)There are significant differences between immediate and delayed productive vocabulary acquisition under the same input enhancement sequence of word form and meaning.Obviously, the participants performed better in immediate test than in delayed test.
