A Report On The Translation Of A Comparative Analysis Of Higher Education Systems (Chapter 7)

This report is based on the translation of Chapter 7 "The Challenges Facing Higher Education in India",of the book A Comparative Analysis of Higher Education Systems written by Elizabeth Vergis of University of Alberta,Canada.The chapter gives an overview on India’s higher education system,and elaborates several the challenges India faces today.The author offers her solutions to the challenges at the end.This report is divided into 5 chapters.Chapter 1 is an introduction to the background,significance and structure of the report.Chapter 2 is a detailed introduction to the SL text,including the author,its content and linguistic features.According to Reiss’s text typology theory,the ST belongs to an informative text.Chapter 3 gives an account of the translation theory used by the translator.Chapter 4 is about the difficulties the translator encountered in the process of translating and its corresponding solutions.The last chapter summarizes what the translator has learned through this project and problems to be solved.
