A Studv On Tibetan Manuscript P.T.996 Underneath From Dunhuang

Dunhuang Old Tibetan literature P.T.996 is an important document that primarily recorded about lives of Mkhan po nam mkha' snying po and spug ye shes dbyangs.They did make some contributions to carry forward Buddhism in mdo smad tsong kha area during the Tibetan empire.Dunhuang Tibetan literatures were recorded and reflected a lot of historical data about Mdo Smad area in some cases,so that is very valuable literature for Tibetan Buddhism history.In this paper,we not only based on the previous research results of some scholars,but also according to the ancient documents from Central Tibet areas and the field investigation method,mainly discuss and demonstrate this literature.First appeared mkhan po nam mkha'snying po and spug ye shes dbyangs two monks in the literature is cloth Yi history and the Buddhism history.Other information also appeared in some Tibetan inscriptions.Here,we compared with each other and also described properly.This paper separately studies lives of two masters,mainly involves the literature itself and history emergences between them and their relationships.During the research,we also discussed some historical figures from khri ka which is an important area of East Tibet.Finally,through the discussion of the early Tibetan historical literature,sum up its historical value,literature value and geographical identification etc.
