Gansu Folk Songs Music Research

Gansu Province lies in the interface of Loess plateau,Inner Mongolia plateau and Qingzang plateau in western China and is a mountainous province,with vast land.Beginning in the east from Gansu and Shangxi Province and ends at Wuxiaoling Banks,Loess plateau of Longdong and Longzhong region locates at the east and middle region of Gansu Province.In Longnan region,there are ravines crossbar,high mountains,lush forests and endless streams.East to Wuxiaoling and west to the boundary of Gansu and Xinjiang,Hexi corridor lies in the north of Qilian Mountains and the south of Beishan and is a corridor connecting the east and the west,the north and the south.Adopting literature research method and based on much review on the books relating to folk tunes and geography,this essay finds that geography has certain influence on the formation of the style characteristics of folk tunes and that dialect has played an important role in folk tunes.Because of different regions,dialects vary in GansuProvince.With the increasing concerns and research on Gansu folk music:from domestic experts and scholars,essays mainly focus on a certain region of Gansu Province,narrating with a center of a certain region's folk tunes and rarely focus on the comprehensive elaboration or research of folk tunes from its near regions and relatively less focus on the comprehensive music research on folk tunes of Gansu Region.This essay not only executes a comprehensive music analysis of folk tunes in the whole Gansu region,but also comb and analyze folk tunes from the perspective of musicality based on music analysis.This essay falls into four chapters.Chapter one is the introduction,presenting research conditions,methods and meanings;chapter two,from the distribution and classification of Gansu folk tunes,introduces the general condition of Gansu folk tunes;Chapter three analyze Gansu folk tunes,mainly on musical main body research according to different region;chapter four is the key part of this essay,emphasizing the musical features of Gansu folk tunes from the aspects of tune features,lining words and tunes and smooth chamber and sentences.Based on the analysis of Gansu folk tunes music main body and lining words,one can find out that dialect is an important reason behind the development trend of Gansu folk tune melody,the development of folk tunes characteristics and the colorful feature of Gansu folk tunes.From the perspective of musicology and with Longdong,Longnan,Hexi andLongzhong as the breakthrough point,this essay analyze the music morphology of Gansu folk tunes and also analyze and research the regional typicality of folk tunes from the perspective of music structure,modulation and rhythm beat.From the perspective of folk music,this essay elaborates and analyze Gansu folk tunes culture and further elaborates music and cultural characteristics of Gansu folk tunes and provide some humble suggestions to the inheritance and protection of Gansu folk tunes.
