Variations on Bach's Weinen,Klagen,Sorgen,Zagen and Crucifixus from the Mass in B minor,S180/R24.,composed by Franz Liszt,is one of his masterpieces concerning his religious belief,which centers on the elements of God,human voice,hell and moral judgment,describes the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus as well as the desperation,weeping and loyalty of his followers and also demonstrates the strong and unshakable belief of the composer.This piece of music is composed of a prelude,four variations and a coda,with the theme being pitiful and sorrowful,emotions strong and powerful,dynamics changeable rapidly and the organization complicated and profound,which clearly reflects the composer's superb composing techniques and his faith to theological thought.This thesis is meant to focus on the theme that each variation has displayed as well as the related technical solutions,such as the shift and promotion of emotions,the planning of dynamics,the use of pedals,the management of phrases,the connection of different movements,the changes of tempo,the intonation and move,which will help the readers better understand and appreciate this everlasting classical piece of music.
