With the increasingly frequent multidisciplinary academic exchanges all of the world,the translation of academic papers has turned to be the most effective way of learning and communication.Translation of English papers,however,also faces challenges of large specialized vocabularies,many nominal structures and so forth which are caused by academic writing styles and Chinese-English culture gap.Therefore,based on the case of two English papers on education of Chinese Government Policies and Initiatives on the International Popularization of Chinese: An Economics of Language Perspective and Understanding Chinese as a Foreign Language from the Perspective of Second Language Acquisition,the report aims to solve the difficulty of how to well translate long and complex English thesis sentences,and concludes two main translation methods for it,that is,integration translation and separation translation,by analyzing causes of the phenomenon and conducting comparisons on different translations with the guidance of functional equivalence theory.
