Edward W.Said is the founder of postcolonial theory,as well as a famous contemporary American literary theorist,critic,ideologist,professor of Columbia University.Due to the complicated identity,he always pay close attention to the Eastern question.Under the impact of theorists and critics,such as Michel Foucault,Giambattista Vico,Antonio Gramsci,Raymond Williams and Frantz Fanon.As one of the most influence scholar,Said established his own thought and theory in a unique style.His thought has an important research value.He focus on “temporalness” of the text,the refection of Orientalism and the discuss of the function of culture has an important role in the development of domestic and foreign philosophy,literature and sociology.The study of postcolonial philosophy core terms of Said has a siginificant theoretical and academic meaning.On the basic of studying the original English works and postcolonialism philosophy core terms of Said,as well as date from the theoretical origin.Meanwhile,it will explain and analyze the main core terms.This paper will analyze postcolonialism philosophy core term of Said in four parts,which involving the production and development of social and theoretical background of Said's postcolonialism philosophy core term.At the same time,it will explain and analyse the typical term of Said's postcolonialism philosophy in the pattern of system theory and methodology.At last,it will summarize the theoretical characteristic of Said's postcolonialism philosophy and make a brief evalution.
