With the implementation of the two-child policy in China,the intense conflicts in some one-child families when facing the two-child policy have aroused a great concern of the whole society.Under this environment,a brand-new parent-child interaction TV reality show Two-child Age appeared.The possible problems and conflicts that a family of two children may meet and how to solve the problems and conflicts become the center of people's attention.The author uses Interpersonal Communication Theory and Speech Act Theory as the theoretical framework.Based on the data that are collected from the reality show The Age of Two-child Family and the methodology of qualitative analysis,this thesis explores the following three questions:(1)What are the main speech acts in initiation stage,maintenance stage and termination stage of parent-child conflict talks in two-child families?(2)What are the causes of parent-child conflict talks in two-child families?(3)How to manage parent-child conflict talks in two-child families?Through the data analysis,it can be concluded that undeserved criticism,unapproved assertion and critical comparison are the three main speech acts that can initiate parent-child conflict talks easily.Opposing questioning,repetition of negative expressions and negation are the three speech acts that may escalate parent-child conflict talks,while comforting,changing of the topic and explanation may terminate parent-child conflict talks.The features of the parent-child conflict talks have a close relationship with both the physical and mental characteristics of parents and children,especially to the elder child;at the same time,it is closely related to the language they use.Thus,based on these characteristics and the framework of Interpersonal Communication Theory,the researcher puts forward some suggestions to manage parent-child conflict talks effectively in two-child families in order to achieve the construction of a harmonious relationship between family members.From the perspective of family,it is important for parents in two-child families to avoid the using of negative structures in daily communication;secondly,the parents should criticize the children tactfully by altering moods,structures and forms.From the perspective of school education,on the one hand,it is necessary for schools to set up some communicative courses to improve children's communicative skills so that they can manage their interpersonal relationship better;on the other hand,it is essential for schools,to pay more attention to the design and function of psychological activities.
