The Study Of Butler’s Concept On The Identity Of Women

Judith.Butler is a famous American feminist critics and sex researcher in the field of gender studies,and his forward-looking gender theory has a profound impact on the women’s movement and the homosexual movement.At present,the research of butler theory focuses on the discussion of Gender Performance both in the west and China,which is also the emphasis of gender theory.This paper tries to discuss butler’s deconstruction and reconstruction of female identity issues.It not only plays a decisive role in breaking the traditional gender entity theory,but also breaks the traditional gender identity for feminist theory.It also provides theoretical conditions for advocating the multiple and heterogeneous female identity.The research on butler’s female identity is based on the critical tradition of women.She affirmed the Simone de Beauvoir,Luce Irigaray and Julia Kristeva and others with traditional women’s positive significance,together with the criticism on their theoretical limitations.As for the problem of the female subject,butler discovers the constructiveness and unitization of the traditional subject from the mode of formation of the subject.She advocates the idea of a single,stable body and a clear barrier to diversities and differences.Under the influence of post-modernism theory,the idea of diversity and heterogeneity are also found in gender.Butler believes that the goal of breaking the identity of women is to create diverse,diverse women Simone de Beauvoir.,she argues and points out social constructility,but does not touch on the natural view.And Luce Irigaray thinks women are just different relationship,so she tries to establish female subjectivity through the ment of "female writing",which still leaves a space for the essence of socialism.The idea of the subject of the language of Julia Kristeva provides theoretical basis for the mobility of the subject,but it still cannot escape the influence of patriarchal society.Not only does butler affirms social constructility,but believes that biological gender is also the result of social construction.In butler’s opinion,gender was formed through the demonstration of behavior.Gender itself is not essential,but is generated in social practice.In this case,it is necessary to be physical and sexual.Butler first dissected the body and thought that the consistency between the body and the gender was also a result of the construction.Then,in repeated actions,the gender is not only engraved but also solidified.So,Bultler argues that gender’s performance determines gender variability and uncertainty,providing a theoretical basis for loosening the traditional gender.Butler’s research on female identity is highly disruptive in gender.We must clear that it deconstructs the real traditional intention of female body and finds her gender ideology of positive significance,but also we must be alert to the limitations of the gender ideology.
