The Study On The Tea Poem In Southern Song Dynasty

In the Southern Song Dynasty period,the tea culture was highly prosperous because the society was relatively stable and rulers tended to promote tea culture. In this social background, the scholars created a great number of tea poetry. These tea poetry was related to all aspects of daily life for literati,and played a vital role in understanding the society and the literati’s mentality of the Southern Song Dynasty. Thus, this study focuses on the research of Southern Song tea poetry,and explores the daily life of the scholars as well as the cultural significance of tea poetry endowed by the scholars in their daily life by connecting the tea with the daily life of the scholars and the analysis of tea poetry.This article mainly concentrates on four aspects: the development situation, the daily life, spiritual pursuit and the social significance of literati reflected by tea poetry to realize the closely connects between the tea and the daily life of literati. The text part is divided into four chapters, the first chapter mainly defined the concept of tea poetry and discussed the development situation of tea poetry in Southern Song Dynasty for exploring its flourishing social background. By analyzing the various periods of the tea poetry, we found that the tea poetry in the early, middle and late period of Southern Song Dynasty present the era characteristics of missing motherland, unrealized aspiration and negatively escaping the word. The prosperity of Southern Song tea poetry also connects with the social economy, customs and aesthetic idea. The second chapter discussed the connection of tea and the daily life of scholars in Southern Song Dynasty. Through analyzing the life of literati reading, festival and social ,we found that the tea plays an irreplaceable important role in the daily life of the literati and becomes the carrier of daily emotions that literati express homesickness ambition, unrealized aspiration and the miss of countryside. At the same time, the formation cause of these emotions of Southern Song literati has been analyzed. These emotions associate with the depressed social morality, geographical environment and the social psychology of literati. The third chapter analyzed literati’s spiritual pursuit contained in the tea poetry. By in-depth excavating the aesthetic characteristics contained in tea poetry, has revealed the literati put their pursuit of ideal personality, such as integrity, pure, and the purarsuit of leisure life and broad-minded life in glorifying the tea and tea drinking. The fourth chapter discussed the historiography, literature and the practical significance implied in tea poetry. Firstly,we analyzed the broad social image presenting by tea poetry, and then discussed the literary meaning of the fusion of tea and literature and the pursuit of "the art of life"literati during drinking tea.Southern Song literati exhibited the Southern Song wide social life picture by tea poetry. In these writings, tea has been closely linked with the Southern Song social life,and is playing an increasingly important role. The Southern Song tea poetry paid more in-depth and meticulous attentions to drinking tea activity, described all aspects of the drinking tea activity by its unique angle of view, which were beyond the previous writings. At the same time, a large number of allusions about tea were put into the tea poetry, continuing the artistic literature. In the tea poetry, the literati continued the "life artistry" of life style, and recorded the poetic life of history.
