The main forms of the Buddhist art of Kucha are pagodas,Buddhist sculptures,Buddhist caves,Buddhist murals and so on.Kizil Grottoes murals are the most outstanding.Buddhist murals' themes include a large number of Buddha stories such as solemn Sakyamuni,lithe and elegant apsaras,pujana murals which are close to the common life and so on.The themes of Kizil Grottoes murals were chosen from Hinayana.With E.Waldschmidt's analysis of the two styles of Kizil Grottoes,this article points out that the early style of the mural paintings influenced by the artistic characteristics of Gandhara,which is E.Waldschmidt's "the First Period of India-Iranian style ".As time went by,the styles of Kizil Grottoes mural tended to be localized,which formed a unique style of the traditional cultural characteristics of the Kucha Buddhist art.It is E.Waldschmidt's "the Second Period of India-Iranian style "and also known as the local style of Kizil.These two styles also affect the Buddhist art of the Central Plains cave temples.This article focuses on the analysis of the style and influence of the Kizil Buddhist art.With the researches of the predecessors,and the research methods of archaeology and iconography,there will be new achievements.
