Toni Morrison is an African-American female writer who has a very strong senseof history . Her works almost take the major events and the historical context in thehistory of the United States as a pre-text, it can be said that her work is largely in therecord of history, writing pain, restore the grief history ignored by the mainstreamculture .In the process of exploring the history of blacks, Morrison rejected thetraditional linear narrative , but introduced an open pluralistic structure, and put theAmerican history in the irony context of "American exceptionalism" ideology , andthen writing the Individual and national pains covered by the mainstream history.Because the history is usually written by the strongman who has the right to speak, it isnot only incomplete, but also through the disguise of the past with the power ,therefore, in the presentation of historical truth, Morrison tries to restore the realhistorical context that designed and changed by the official language through the wayof reconstruction of memory , to explore the tension between official history andmemory , so that the suffering of the black nation can be "spoken." Through thecreative memory writing, combined with the actual situation of the original fictionalscenes carrying a lot of historical truth, and then complete the history of literarywriting, memory modification of the reflective task. It is noteworthy that, Morrisonbelieves her writing is derived from the "pleasure of hope" rather than "desolatesadness", so her writing history, reconstruction of memory is not for the purpose of mourning the past, but to reflect oneself and the black personality in the memory of history , and to find a way home for African American who have the "doubleconsciousness" .In different stages of creation, writer's home consciousness is different,Morrison's based on history, future-oriented creation concept reflects her explorationfor the future road of the black nation.
