Judicial Fronde is known as a revolt against the regent government,it began at Paris in May 1648,when the sovereign courts of the capital met in joint session at the Chambre Saint Louis and presented 27 reform demands. One year later in April 1649,the government and parlement signed the《Treaty of Rueil》,the revolt was tentatively over. The reason of crisis lies in royal absolutism encroachment to established authorities, so courts were going to rebel to defend their wealth, authority and prestige in traditionally political structure. As for individuals, their stands were influenced by professional or actual interests, political belief and Patron-client ties, etc., thus for courts, it is difficult to form a coherent and consistent stand; divisions between tribunals also affect the officers’solidarity. So in the course of opposition to royal government intrusion, judicial bureaucrats’ choices were different. This article first discusses the background and progress of judicial revolt, then highlights parlement’s target and judges’ choices. In analyzing judicial system, one finds political culture: judges never exceed the monarch and judicial bureaucracy far from reaching accordant confrontation with royal government.Chapter one focuses on the background, which divided into two part. The first se-ction introduce the generation of judicial system and their traditional rights and function, the second part analyze government’s encroachment to bureaucracy. Chapter two presents the progress of judicial revolt, discuss the purpose and principle of revolt which constitute the rebellious parlement holistic stand. Chapter three explores the solidarity of judicial system in two aspects: the individual judge’s stand varies from person to person;interactions between tribunals were fragile. We can see that judicial system far from becoming powerful rebel force against royal government, and flexibility is defining characteristic of parlementary Fronde. The fact that judicial revolt never threat the monarchy, provided essential conditions for the rising of monarchy.
