Investigation And Analysis Of 206 Groups Chinese Characters Varnants Outside The General Standard Chinese Characters Table

Chinese character variants is an important part of Chinese character standardization. Since 1955 the First Batch of Tabulated Variant Forms of Chinese Characterswas released,the assorting of Chinese character variants had never beeninterrupted;The Study on the assorting of Chinese character variants by domestic scholar mainly focus on the First Batch of Tabulated Variant Forms of Chinese Characters and the following adjustment of character tables, the assorting of Chinese character variants of the General Standard Chinese Characters Table is confined to the First Batch of Tabulated Variant Forms of Chinese Characters. Compared to in-depth and fruitful research on the Chinese character variants inside the table at present,the research on Chinese characters variants outside the table is obviously inadequate. The First Batch of Tabulated Variant Forms of Chinese Characters has issued more than sixty years,and social life and language characters has changed.Neglecting existence of Chinese characters variants outside the General Standard Chinese Characters Table, it will led to the assorting of Chinese character variants out of touch with language life, and greatly reduce the effects on the Chinese characters standardization.The main research of this paper is 206 groups Chinese characters variants(including 180 groups of identical variants and 26 groups of included variants) outside the General Standard Chinese Characters Table, 206 group Chinese characters variants outside the First Batch of Tabulated Variant Forms of Chinese Characters to be included in Normalized Chinese Characters from The Identification of Variant Forms of a Chinese Character in The Table of Normalized Chinese Characters by Zhang Shuyan. We will analysis the relationship between sound and meaning and the frequency of standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms when they are used both in modern Chinese and ancient Chinese,and summed up their actual situation of different angles so as to provide reference for the later addition of the assorting of Chinese character variants and to meet the needs of language informatization and contemporary language life.This thesis includes four parts:The first part: Introduction. This part briefly introduces the definition of Chinese character variants,summarizes the research of the Chinese character variants, puts forward the theoretical significance and practical significance of the research.The second part: Investigation and analysis the relationship between sound and meaning of 206 groups Chinese characters variants outside the General Standard Chinese Characters Table.This part firstly adopts quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and objective description method,and investigates the relationship between sound and meaning of standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms in Modern Chinese Dictionary(the sixth edition) and Great Chinese Dictionary(the second edition),summarizes and analysis different types of variants forms in the table through examples,then figures out the number and the proportion of each type by statistical analysis method,finally summarizes the actual situation of 206 groups standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms in the relationship between sound and meaning.The third part:Investigation and analysis the frequency of 206 groups Chinese characters variants outside the General Standard Chinese Characters Table.This part firstly adopts quantitative analysis methods,and investigates the frequency of standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms in corpora including modern Chinese corpus and ancient Chinese corpus offered by State Language Commission of China and Center for Chinese Linguistics PKU,then,analysis the data by statistical induction method to integrate the relevant data,and finally summarizes the actual situation of 206 groups standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms in the frequency of use.The fourth part:Conclusion.Preliminary summarizes 206 groups standardized Chinese Characters and their variant forms about their relationship between sound and meaning and the frequency based on the second and third part.And then take the specific groups as examples from the perspective of the relationship between sound and meaning, the word frequency to make comprehensive analysis, looking forward to provide a reference to the future of the assorting and supplement work of Chinese character variants. Finally, points out the deficiencies in the study.
