Philip Milton Roth (1933- ) is a prolific Jewish American writer who never stops writing throughout his life and his works always have a distinctive historical writing character, which isrepresented by the "Zuckerman novels" combining the history of individuals and community. Rothadheres to the creative attitude of "complete game state and fatal serious concern", coupled with itsprofound intellectual feelings and keen global vision. He always take care of the fate of the Jews, especially the issue of contemporary American Jews.It is worth nothing that Roth's care for the Jews is expressed by describing the rebellion of Jewishness, and the "negative aspects" of the Jews, such as forgetting history, assimilation evenalienation, and zealous Zionism. His works make contemporary American Jews face up to their ownlimitations, while at the same time, look at their own Jewishness and Americanness in order to finda way out. What's more, Roth, with deep intellectual feelings, focuses on the survival of otheroppressed nations and seeks the foothold of other peoples. In the process of seeking a way out, Roth, living in the postmodernist context, takes a varietyof historical writing strategies, among which "autobiography" and "autofiction" type,"double down" and lowercase and complex history of historical writing strategy are the most importantones. The strategy of combining personal history and group history is also of great value. Readersbuild their own reality through the one described in his novels and find the problem in the historydepicted by Roth so as to seek the way out.
