An Analysis Of The Narrative Art Of Guan Hu's Films

Since 1990 s,the new generation directors began to emerge in the filmdom,and a force that cannot be ignored appeared in the Chinese films.In 1992,Guan Hu edged himself into the movie industry by his self-financing debut Dirt,gained a great deal of attention.Besides,Gu Hu also shot many favorite TV series,Which fully demonstrated his talent as a director.In Guan Hu's film and television works,He aimed the camera at the bottom of the society and the common people in his life,Through the outline of the theme of youth?growthand life,In a subtle way to express his meaning and value of life understanding and perception.This paper takes Guan Hu's film works over the years as the main research object,and analyzes the narrative art of his film from narrative context,narrative theme,narrative strategy and narrative language based on the theory of Film Narratology.This paper first analyzes the narrative context of Guan Hu films.His film creation period is right in the rapid development of China's reform and opening up period.The development of political economy has led to the change of culture,and the change of culture has deeply influenced various aspects such as the film system,the creative concept of the director and the form of the story,which has also become the background feature of his film creation.Secondly,analyze inherent meaning of his works from the theme of the film and try to find the link between his works.Gu Hu's early works were mostly expressing youth,confusion and seeking,which is a holdover with the emotion of happiness while sadness in his heart.His later works were influenced by postmodernism and the pursuit of art,so he turned to the digestion of real life,the expression of the pain of survial and true reflection of human nature,which are full of rebellion,unruliness and tenacity.Finally,this paper analyzes the performance of Guan Hu film in narrative art from the aspects of narrative strategy and narrative language.His unusual non-linear narrative makes the ordinary storytelling become extraordinary and makes the character more full and stereoscopic,leaving a deep impression on the audience.At the same time,visually,he focuses on lens shooting,clipping and the use of color contrast.Acoustically,he uses straightforward but very shocking music rendering picture to show emotion to the audience unreservedly,and vividly expresses his understanding and sentiment on life.
