This thesis consists of three parts: the source text Video Making,Production Pedagogies,and Educational Policy,its Chinese translation and the translation report.The original text develops the concept of “production pedagogies” and explores related educational policy through two case studies of video making.The Chinese version is provided for domestic teachers and researchers interested in the study of production pedagogies and for educational policy makers.The translation report introduces the source and features of the original text,and why it is chosen to be put into Chinese.Examples are cited to analyze how efforts are made to improve the readability of the Chinese version under the guidance of Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory.It is pointed out that in order to ensure to the largest extent possible that the target reader can enjoy the translation the way the source-text reader enjoys the original text,the translator takes into account both the Chinese reader's ways of expression and modes of thinking and the style of the source text.The report ends with a summary of what the translator has gained from this practice.
