A Contrastive Study Of Refusal Speech Acts In Chinese And Vietnamese Business Correspondence

With the rapid development of modern economy and science and technology,the world economy has brought infinite business opportunities and broad space for development.Business letters have become an important means of communication for people in the economic field,through business letters,people can exchange information,contact business,trade negotiations,consultations related issues,promote friendship.Now the field of commodity circulation has been extended forward to a variety of activities and prenatal production field,including market research,product development,supply of raw materials,back extended to the process of consumption circulation after the end of the process,including customer service service,information feedback,etc..Therefore,no matter what the main economic body,in the production,circulation,consumption of all aspects,will be due to economic exchanges and business activities and continuously strengthen contact.Business letters are an effective form of this connection.So,study on the expression of trade letters inside the speech act of refusal to help master trade correspondence writing specifications and language,writing letters and strengthen care,fully understand the cultural factors in communication Chinese and Vietnam is very important.On the basis of previous studies and several reasons for the appeal,I drew up the title of the thesis as a comparative study of refusal speech acts in Chinese and Vietnamese business letters.It is hoped that all Vietnamese Chinese learners will be able to use appropriate language and reasonable strategies to express the intention of rejection in order to get the best results.The thesis is divided into 4 chapters:The first chapter introduces the relevant theoretical basis,indicating the purpose and significance of the article,and a preliminary discussion on the refusal of the language of business letters.The second chapter deals with the expression of refusal speech acts in Chinese business letters.This chapter will analyze the characteristics of the language expression and the proportion of each character.The third chapter deals with the expression of refusal speech acts in Vietnamese business letters.This chapter will analyze in detail the characteristics of the expression patterns of the rejected language in Vietnamese language business letters and the proportion of each character.In the fourth chapter,the author compares and analyzes the linguistic features of Chinese business letters and Vietnamese business letters,and points out that the similarities and differences between the two languages are different.In this paper,a comparative study between Chinese and Vietnamese business letters is made to find out the similarities and differences between Chinese and Vietnamese in the use of refusal strategies.The refusal strategies and mood in Chinese and Vietnamese business letters are similar.Speech is a kind of social behavior,human is the most important tool of communication,between people through the language of the other party,order requirements,advice,invitation,but the other party does not always make sure to agree,in response,resulting in the need to use at this time to express the speech act of refusal.Refusal speech act as an essential factor in economic communication activities,ways of expression and speech act of refusal is not simple,the use of words is necessary particularly cautious,friendly tone and polite euphemism to refuse to achieve the effect of.When trade development into conflict,letters are spokesmen should have the strategic use of language,the proper use of politeness principle and cooperative principle,which embodies the sender to the recipient's friendship,respect,understanding,and reduce the intensity and reduce the threat level on the other side of the face,give yourself leeway to meet each other's psychological.The rules of the cooperative principle used by the addresser and the addressee to provide sufficient information in a business letter.However,it is far from enough to follow the principle of cooperation in order to achieve the communicative goal of business correspondence.The reason why there are a lot of similarities between the two is that the cultural and geographical ties between the two countries have long been inseparable.Chinese and Vietnam are ancient civilizations,a state of ceremonies,has always paid great attention to the use of polite language,business letters politeness language usage would have many of the same rules.In addition,because of the influence of family and Buddhism,there are some differences between Vietnamese and Chinese.
