This paper adopts the empirical research method to investigate the application and effectiveness of Computer Assisted Interpreting Training(CAIT)software in users' interpreting training through the case study of the Lancoo Professional Language Learning Platform.Based on Gile's(2009)Effort Model and Zhong's(2003)curriculum requirements, the author designed a 10-week course on consecutive interpreting fundamentals, which was followed by students' self-training via the CAIT software. Then the author analyzed participants' test results to testify the effectiveness of the Platform. The author designed a questionnaire and interview for the participants to understand participants' opinions towards the Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use of the CAIT software.Based on the research, the author is to answer three questions:(1)Can the application of a CAIT software influence participants' interpreting performances?(2)In what aspects can the software help in participants' interpreting performances?(3)How do participants evaluate the Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use of the CAIT software?According to the research results, the author concluded that:(1)The application of CAIT software can significantly improve participants' interpreting performances;(2)The application of CAIT software can bring obvious improvements to participants' Accuracy and Delivery, and marginal improvements to Completeness, which means that the Platform could better improve participants' Accuracy of Logic Links(Listening and Analyzing Effort)and Completeness(Memory Effort),and can slightly improve participants' Fluency of Delivery(Production Effort);(3)Participants considered the CAIT software to be useful in interpreting self-training,yet there were noticeable dissatisfaction towards the ease of use of the software. The results indicate that it is necessary to apply CAIT software in interpreting teaching and training. And teachers should have relative trainings on CAIT software so as to help students in their usage of the software to improve students' learning outcomes.
