With the gradual application of computer network to the field of teaching, many scholars have strong interests in English teaching under the computer environment.Scholars have made related researches and achieved certain results on how to adopt the Internet to facilitate students' language learning effectively. However, there is the lack of further empirical research on the impact of corrective feedback and different types of feedback on students' language learning in the network environment. This study adopts the concepts of the Interactive hypothesis, the Noticing hypothesis and the Constructive hypothesis to make a comparison of the effects of the recast and prompts on students' language accuracy in text-based SCMC.The research tries to find out the effects of recast and prompts on students' language accuracy in text-based SCMC and explore the factors influencing the effectiveness of recast and prompts in text-based SCMC.This paper combines qualitative research and quantitative research to conduct the experiment.Subjects were from two classes of English major in Yanshan University, with a total number of 49 students.Students made discussions on the given topics related to the English weekly via the Tencent QQ group. The experiment lasted for 16 weeks.Group 1 were given recast and group 2 were given prompts in the experiment when students made language errors. In addition, the research combines the questionnaire and the interview to investigate the students. The results show that in text-based SCMC,both recast and prompts have positive effects on students' language accuracy;students of high level English proficiency could benefit from both two types of feedback, and students of low level English proficiency learn more from recast than prompts; Both students in G1 and G2 improved their grammar accuracy and lexical accuracy, but the improvement of syntactic accuracy is not obvious. What's more, students' interests, anxiety,English level, and the inherent features of text-based SCMC can influencethe improvement of students' language accuracy.Although there are some limitations in this research, the research results still can offer references.Recast and prompts in text-based SCMC are helpful for students' language accuracy. But in the practical application, attention should also be paid to the differences of students' language proficiency, students' interest, anxiety, different English level, the inherent features of text-based SCMC and so on.
