A Report On The Translation Of Gravel Pack Technology In The Well Completion

This is a report on the translation of gravel pack treatments in the well completion.Many advanced equipment technologies and professional skills are introduced in the original text,which aim at providing enlightenment to petroleum workers and boosting prosperity of the petroleum engineering.The translator intends to translate the materials with Nida's functional equivalence theory.The report is composed of four parts.Chapter One presents the task description,including topic source,task objectives and significance.Chapter Two discusses the description process and illustrates Nida's functional equivalence theory.Chapter Three focuses on case analysis in terms of lexical and syntactic aspects.Lexical translation focuses on the specialized words,common words and rhetoric words.And syntactic translation emphasizes the following the original syntactic order and rearranging the sentence structures.In the Chapter Four,the translator makes a conclusion for whole translation process.Besides,the translator realizes that translation should be reader-oriented and the version should conform to the usage of target language in order to achieve a reader-friendly translation.
