This study, employing corpus linguistic methods, bibliometric tools, text mining techniques and co-word analysis tools, aims to explore the issues of CHINA RISE in English academic texts. This study can be divided into three main parts.Firstly, with the help of Web of Science, this study analyzed several bibliometric features of literature about CHINA RISE from the perspective of document types, research areas, source titles, publication years,countries/regions,and authors and their works. Also,a corpus including 718 academic texts about CHINA RISE was built to investigate the issues about CHINA RISE involved in English academic texts. Therefore,in the second part, this study analyzed the major issues of CHINA RISE concerned by English academic texts through co-word analysis approach from three angles: major issues concerned by the whole corpus, major issues concerned by English academic texts in different periods of time and from different original countries/regions.The main finding is that China's economic rise is the most concerned issue in English academic texts in most of the time and by most countries/regions.In addition,China's military power, the influence of CHINA RISE on the international system and international order, and China's relationship with Asian(especially East Asian)countries are also heated topics in English academic texts.Furthermore,in the third part of this study,in order to find out the opinions on China's rising power,China's economic rise and China's military development, which are all major issues concerned by English academic texts, three words("power","economic" and "military")are selected as node words for colligation and collocation analysis. And this study finds that China is always described as "a rising great power",which indicates that the English academic circle admits the fact that China is rising. Moreover,as a rising power,China is often compared with other powers in the world to figure out whether it will cause threat or not. While discussing Chinese economy, problems existing in China's rising process are usually mentioned together with China's economic growth to express negative opinions about China. When studying China's military issues, various aspects are included, such as military power, military capacities, military modernization, military spending, etc. Many scholars are worried about China's rising military power and the future direction of China's military power development.
