The Role Perceptions And Its Significance Of Female Cosmetic

In modern society,the number of cosmetic surgery is increasing,and woman are undoubtedly the main force.In the intellectuals,what the scholars argue is whether a cosmetic woman is the "puppet" dominated by capital market and the patriarchal oppression,or the "actors" who empowerment herself through self body personal political operation? And this question becomes the focus of debate among scholars.In response to this controversy,in this study,the author carried out an actual investigation of female cosmetic in plastic surgery institutions.The article answers the following questions: why do women need plastic surgery? What are the factors that affect them?What are the underlying motives and requirements behind cosmetic behavior? What kind of role do women play in plastic surgery,"puppet" or "actor" ?The researcher entered eight plastic surgery institutions with medical qualifications in Harbin and conducted face-to-face interviews with 20 women seeking beauty through observation and interviews.The research has the following findings: firstly,the motivation and demands of cosmetic women are diverse,and can be divided into the following categories: Experiencing "discrimination" and seeking self-confidence,fashion consumption and self satisfaction,periodical requirement and self promotion,and reshaping youth to resist crisis.Second,woman's cosmetic behavior incorporates passivity and initiative,and the single interpretation of "puppets" or "actors" is defective.Third,the dialectical unity of "puppet" and "actor" displayed by women on plastic surgery is in fact a microcosm of modernity,plastic surgery is a product of a particular stage of modernity,and it reflects the interaction between the reshaping of the subject's body and the reconstruction of the social structure.The body is a symbolic system,the women reshape their bodies through cosmetic surgery reflects a great change and reconstruction of social structure,and also the mental disorder and anxiety of woman,as well as the obedience and resistance in their actions.In a word,what the phenomenon of plastic surgery reflects are the two categories of "structure / action" and "objectivity /subjectivity" of sociological theory.
