Identity Construction In The Perspective Of Social Transformation

Since China's reform and opening up,China accelerating the pace of social transformation,mass of industrialization and urbanization have changed the social structure and farmers' production and living way in rural areas.The traditional rural areas have no corresponding cultural strength to support the economic dividends brought by the modernization wave.In the process of social transformation,economic and cultural development are not adapted.People have become accustomed to the modern social development with traditional cultural “habits”,and people have a crisis of identity identity.In this study,Based on field investigation of Shitouchia,Guiyang,I Investigated people in Shitouchia who have multiple identities: National Citizen,Buyi People,Catholic and Peasant in rural-urban continuum.In responding to the crisis of identity in the process of social transformation,why do they choose the Catholic,the chosen process and the outcome,and the way they reconstruct their identity construction.In terms of structure,this paper is divided into five parts: The first part,as a introduction to the introduction,introduces the origin,objective and meaning,reviewed the present research status at home and abroad,and major research methods.The second part describes Shitouchia's character of geographical space,general situation and belief condition by anthropological methods.The third part starting with“transformation”,analyzes the forms of expression of transformation,its impact on Shitouchia's religion,their passive and active coping strategies while facing the social transformation.The fourth part,the reasons of people choosing the faith of Catholicism are analyzed firstly,then expounds the process of identity of the people in Shitouchia,from there respects: the road of converting,the identity of the identification and the strengthening of faith.Finally,discusses the test of modernization of the identity reconstruction and its method of identity reconstruction.In the fifth part,the paper summarizes the basic characteristics,theoretical value and practical significance of the study,and points out the shortcomings of this paper and the research prospect.This paper explores the process of passive transformation,active adjustment and main construction of the Catholic faith ecology in certain ethnic villages in the process of social transformation,focuses on the theory of social transformation,the theory of religious market and the theory of identity construction,and hopes to provide some of the significance for the study in the field.
